What is Tyreek Hill's net worth and Salary?
Tyreek Hill is an American professional football player who has a net worth of $40 million. Also known as "Cheetah" due to his speed on the field, Tyreek Hill first became well-known as a wide receiver for the Kansas City Chiefs. In March 2022, Tyreek signed a four-year deal with the Miami Dolphins worth $120 million, making him the highest-paid wide receiver in NFL history up to that point.
He was selected as a first-team All-Pro in 2016, 2018, and 2020 and was named to the Pro Bowl in 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021. Hill won Super Bowl LIV with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2020, and at the age of 18, he won a gold medal in 4×100 m relay and a bronze medal in 200 m at the 2012 Barcelona World Junior Championships.
Early Life
Tyreek Hill was born on March 1, 1994, in Lauderhill, Florida. He was raised by his grandparents, Virginia and Herman Hill, in Pearson, Georgia, and Virginia told "The O'Colly" in 2014, "I brought him home out the hospital. I prefer mother, even though I know I'm a grandmother first. I'm mom to him." Tyreek began playing flag football as a child, and at age 7, he joined a Pop Warner league and played with 10-year-olds. He attended Coffee High School, where he was a member of the track team and won the 100 meters and 200 meters when he competed in the Georgia 5A state meet in 2012. After an impressive performance at the 2012 Golden South Classic, "Track and Field News" named Hill "High School Athlete of the Year." That year he was also one of "USA Today's" All-American track and field selections.
College Career
After graduating from high school, Tyreek was on the football and track teams at Garden City Community College in Kansas, and in 2014, he transferred to Oklahoma State University. He was kicked off the university's football team in December 2014 due to an arrest for domestic violence, and during his time on the team, he was second in the country in combined return yards and 11th in all-purpose yards. In September 2015, Hill began attending the University of West Alabama and served as a wide receiver, running back, kick returner, and punt returner on the Tigers football team.
Professional Career
After impressing scouts at West Alabama's Pro Day, Tyreek (who was initially predicted to be undrafted due to his 2014 arrest) was the 165th pick in the 2016 NFL draft, making him the first West Alabama player to be drafted since the mid-1970s. The Kansas City Chiefs were criticized for choosing him, but head coach Andy Reid stated, "The young man is trying to do the right things, whether it's with counseling, whatever it is. He's trying to do the right things to better himself. A lot of guys don't try to right the wrong. I give the kid credit for doing that. He's really working hard at that." In May 2016, the team signed Hill to a four-year contract worth $2.58 million (with a $70,000 signing bonus), and he began the season as a kick returner, punt returner, and wide receiver. His first catch in the NFL was a nine-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Alex Smith, and during a game against the Denver Broncos, he became the first NFL player to achieve a kick return for a touchdown, receiving touchdown, and rushing touchdown all in one game since Gale Sayers of the Chicago Bears did it in 1965. Due to his performance in this game, Tyreek was named AFC Offensive Player of the Week. Later in the season, he was honored as AFC Special Teams Player of the Week twice and was first in punt return touchdowns and punt return yards. Hill was named to the Pro Bowl, All-Rookie Team, and First-team All-Pro, and his fellow players ranked him #36 on the "NFL Top 100 Players of 2017" list.
In late 2017, Tyreek was named to the Pro Bowl again, and in 2018, he was named to the Pro Bowl for a third time as well as first-team All-Pro and second-team All-Pro. In April 2019, he was temporarily suspended from the team due to a child abuse investigation, but after he was cleared, he was signed to a three-year contract extension worth $54 million. He suffered a posteriorly dislocated sternoclavicular joint when he injured his shoulder during the season opener, and he couldn't return to the game until week six. The team won the AFC West and made it to Super Bowl LIV, winning 31–20 over the San Francisco 49ers. During week 12 of the 2020 season, Tyreek was named AFC Offensive Player of the Week. The Chiefs played in Super Bowl LV, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers defeated them 31–9. In January 2022, he set a new team record for most receptions in a single season (106). Two months later, Hill was traded to the Miami Dolphins, who signed him to a four-year, $120 million contract extension, which includes a guaranteed $72.2 million.
Personal Life
In December 2014, Tyreek was arrested for allegedly assaulting his pregnant girlfriend, Crystal Espinal, and Oklahoma State kicked him off the football team. After pleading guilty to domestic assault and battery by strangulation, Hill received a sentence of three years of probation and was ordered to take an anger-management course. Hill and Espinal became engaged in September 2018, and in March 2019, he was investigated for battery after their three-year-old son, Zev, broke his arm. A recording surfaced in which Crystal asks Tyreek why Zev said that "Daddy did it" and can be heard telling Tyreek that their son is "terrified" of him; Hill responds, "You need to be terrified of me, too." The Kansas Department of Children and Families temporarily placed Zev into care, and in June 2019, it was reported that medical investigations showed that "the broken bone was the result of typical accident involving a rambunctious toddler, consistent with reaching out to brace for a fall."
Hill and Espinosa also have twins, Nyla and Nakeem, and in July 2019, she filed for "sole legal custody and residency of the minor children" shortly after they were born. In December 2020, Tyreek revealed that he was in a relationship with Keeta Vaccaro, and she accepted his proposal on July 4, 2021. In March 2022, Awesemo.com reported that Hill was in a relationship with painter/Instagram model Mary Isabel.
Hill has been hit with a number of paternity tests over the years. In an April 2024 interview, Tyreek claimed to have 10 kids. It is known that he had three children by three different women in a four month period.
Contracts
In 2019 he signed a three year with the Chiefs for $54 million. In March 2022 Tyreek signed the largest wide receiver contract in NFL history. The 4-year, $120 million deal with the Dolphins came with $72 million worth of guaranteed money.
Real Estate
In late 2019, Hill purchased a 7,562 square foot home near Kansas City. He put the five-bedroom home on the market for $1.3 million a year after buying it.
