Belushi was a member of The Second City in Chicago from 1977 to 1980, a few years after John had worked with the improv comedy group. Jim made his onscreen acting debut in the late '70s with an uncredited role in the 1978 film "The Fury" and a role on NBC's "Who's Watching the Kids?" (1978–1979). In 1979, he played Ernie O'Rourke on the CBS sitcom "Working Stiffs" alongside Michael Keaton, then he appeared in the film "Thief" (1981) and the television show "Laverne & Shirley" (1982). In 1983, Jim co-starred with Dan Aykroyd and Eddie Murphy in "Trading Places" and joined the cast of "Saturday Night Live." Jim married Sandra Davenport on May 17, 1980, and they had son Robert (born October 23, 1980) before divorcing in 1988. Belushi then wed actress Marjorie Bransfield on September 22, 1990, and after they divorced in 1992, Jim married Jennifer Sloan on May 2, 1998. Jennifer filed for divorce in 2018, but the two reconciled the following year. In 2008, Belushi received honorary Albanian citizenship and the "Honor of the Nation" Decoration.
