DeSean William Jackson was born on December 1, 1986, in Los Angeles, California to Bill and Gayle Jackson. He attended Long Beach Polytechnic High School where he became one of the top wide receiver recruits in the nation. DeSean Jackson committed to the University of California, Berkeley where he played for the Golden Bears from 2005 to 2007. Even with high expectations, he exceeded them all and was a First-team All-Pac-10 player twice and a First-team All-American twice (2006, 2007). And after a junior season that he entered as a Heisman Trophy candidate, Jackson declared for the NFL Draft.
NFL Career
With the 49th overall pick in the second round of the 2008 NFL Draft, DeSean Jackson was selected by the Philadelphia Eagles. While with the Eagles until 2013, Jackson was named to the PFWA All-Rookie Team, was a Second-team All-Pro in 2009, and was a three-time Pro Bowler (2009, 2010, 2013). He made history with a game-winning punt return against the New York Giants in 2010, but a contentious relationship with the Eagles staff led to his release in March of 2014.
DeSean Jackson signed with rival the Washington Redskins where he had some success around injuries for three years. In 2017, he signed a three-year deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers but was traded back to the Philadelphia Eagles in March of 2019. Jackson then played for the Los Angeles Rams and Las Vegas Raiders in 2021 before catching on with the Baltimore Ravens in 2022.
