Vincent Wilfork earned his net worth as nose tackle for the New England Patriots of the National Football League (NFL). He also had a short stint with the Houston Texans before retiring. Wilfork is widely considered one of the greatest defensive tackles in NFL history.

Early Life

Vincent Lamar Wilfork was born on November 4, 1981, in Boynton Beach, Florida, and attended Santaluces Community High School in Palm Beach County, Florida. He lettered in football, wrestling, and track and field. In football, he won USA Today's second-team All-American honors. Wilfork was a top performer in track and field throwing events in which he became the Florida Class 4A state champion in shot put and discus in 2000. He holds the Florida state high school record in shot put with a throw of 68 feet.

Wilfork enrolled at the University of Miami where he continued his football career with the Miami Hurricanes. He also competed for the Miami Hurricanes track and field team and held their indoor school record in shot put until 2013. By 2003, Vince was rated the second best defensive tackle in the country by The Sporting News. Vince became a BCS National Champion when the Miami Hurricanes defeated the Nebraska Cornhuskers 37-14 in the 2002 Rose Bowl. He was named to the All-Big East Conference first-team and decided to forgo his senior season to enter the NFL Draft. Vince Wilfork was inducted into the University of Miami Sports Hall of Fame in 2019.

NFL Career

With the 21st overall pick in the first round of the 2004 NFL Draft, Vince Wilfork was selected by the New England Patriots. Wilfork quickly made a name for himself as one of the premier nose tackles in the league. He was a five-time Pro Bowler (2007, 2009-2012) and was named a First-team All-Pro in 2012 and Second-team All-Pro in 2007, 2010, and 2011. Along with Tom Brady, Wilfork is the only Patriots player to win the Super Bowl in both decades of the New England Patriots dynasty (2004 and 2014). He played the final two years of his career with the Houston Texans before retiring from the game in August 2017. In September 2022, Wilfork was inducted into the New England Patriots Hall of Fame.

Vince Wilfork recorded 561 total tackles over his NFL career with 16 sacks, three interceptions, 26 pass deflections, four forced fumbles, and 12 fumble recoveries.

Contracts & Career Earnings

In 2010, Wilfork signed a five-year, $40 million contract with the New England Patriots. In 2014, he signed a three-year, $23 million extension with the organization. After being released due to the decline of his 2015-2016 option, Wilford signed a two-year, $9 million deal with the Houston Texans in 2015.

Over his 13-year NFL career, Vince Wilford earned more than $59.6 million in salary alone.

Personal Life

Vince Wilfork married Bianca Farinas in 2004. The couple had a son and daughter together. They later divorced in 2021. Vince lives in Houston, Texas, and Florida.

Wilfork started The Vince Wilfork Foundation, a charity that supports diabetes research. Both of Wilfork's parents died in 2002 and were unable to see him play in the NFL.

Stolen Super Bowl Rings

In May 2021 Vince reported that his two Super Bowl rings and other sports memorabilia worth a total of $300,000 had been stolen from his home in Friendswood, Texas. The rings had likely been missing for over a year but Vince thought they had just been misplaced during a move. In June 2021 his 23-year-old son was arrested for the theft. The son reportedly sold the memorabilia to a sports auction site for $62,000. The son, who had previously been kicked off a college football team over drug use, pleaded guilty in April 2022. He was sentenced to five years probation and community service.

Real Estate

In September 2015 Vince and his wife listed their Franklin, Massachusetts home for a little under $700,000. They subsequently moved to a 7,000 square foot mansion in Friendswood, Texas.
