Television Career
Posey began acting as a child. He landed his first major role in 2001, playing orphan Raul Garcia on the medical drama series "Doc," which ran for five seasons through 2004. Following that, he appeared in episodes of such shows as "Without a Trace," "Into the West," and "Smallville." From 2006 to 2007, Posey had a recurring role on the ABC series "Brothers & Sisters." He had another recurring role in 2009 in the fourth and final season of the ABC Family series "Lincoln Heights." In 2011, Posey reached a new level of fame when he began starring as Scott McCall on the MTV supernatural teen drama series "Teen Wolf," based on the 1985 film. The show, which ran for six seasons through 2017, also featured Crystal Reed, Dylan O'Brien, Tyler Hoechlin, Holland Roden, Arden Cho, and Shelley Hennig, among others. That year, he played Mauro in the action thriller "Collateral Damage" and Ty Ventura, the son of Jennifer Lopez's protagonist Marisa, in the romantic dramedy "Maid in Manhattan." Posey's next film credit was in 2007, when he voiced the character Mouse Gonzalez in the animated romantic fantasy film "Veritas, Prince of Truth." Three years later, he played Billy Barrow in the wrestling drama "Legendary," starring Devon Graye, John Cena, Patricia Clarkson, and Danny Glover. Posey was subsequently in the 2012 dramedy "White Frog" and the 2013 sequel parody film "Scary Movie 5." The band performed at the Roxy in Los Angeles in 2012, and broke up in the summer of 2013. Later, Posey played guitar with the pop punk trio PVMNTS. The group released its EP "Better Days" in the summer of 2018. The following year, Posey left the band.
After leaving PVMNTS, Posey formed the pop punk group Five North with his childhood best friend Kyle Murphy. The pair soon recruited drummer Scott Eckel, from the band Makeout. In 2019, Five North released its debut single "This Mess," and the following year released its debut EP "Scumbag" through Big Noise Music Group.
Personal Life
In 2013, Posey got engaged to his childhood sweetheart Seana Gorlick. However, the couple broke off the engagement the same year. Later, in 2020, Posey revealed that he had had relationships with men, and in the summer of 2021 he came out as queer.
