What is Ronn Moss's Net Worth and Salary?
Ronn Moss is an actor, musician, and singer-songwriter who has a net worth of $8 million. Ronn Moss is best known for playing Ridge Forrester on the television soap opera "The Bold and the Beautiful" from 1987 to 2012. After that, from 2015 to 2020, he played John Blackwell on the crime drama series "The Bay." As a musician and singer-songwriter, Moss is one of the founding members of the rock band Player.
Early Life
Ronn Moss was born on March 4, 1952 in Los Angeles, California. He was surrounded by the arts growing up, including rock music and theater. When he was 11, Moss began playing the drums, guitar, and bass.
Player
In 1976, Moss formed the rock band Player with Peter Beckett, J. C. Crowley, and John Friesen. The men soon attracted the attention of music impresario Robert Stigwood, who signed them to his RSO Records label. Player went on to release its self-titled debut album in 1977. The album spawned the band's biggest hit, "Baby Come Back," which reached number one in the United States. Player's follow-up single, "This Time I'm in it for Love," peaked at number ten. In 1978, the band released its second album, "Danger Zone," which featured a harder rock sound. After that, the members of Player had a falling out, resulting in the departure of Beckett and then Crowley. Beckett later regrouped with Moss and Friesen to resume Player. The band went on to release the album "Room with a View" in 1980. That was followed by "Spies of Life" the next year. In 1982, the members of Player decided to go their separate ways.
Player returned in 1995 with its fifth album, "Electric Shadow," which first came out in Japan. For the US market, it was renamed "Lost in Reality" upon its release in 1996. In 1997, Player played a successful reunion show at the Hollywood Palladium, and in 1998 embarked on a tour. The band continued touring until the passing of guitarist Michael Hakes in late 2003. Four years after that, Player reunited with a new lineup. In 2013, the group released its sixth album, and first in 18 years, entitled "Too Many Reasons." Player went on to tour throughout the US and Canada as part of "Sail Rock 2013." The band did an extensive tour of Australia the next year, and in 2015 played dates with the bands Orleans and Ambrosia. Moss and Beckett eventually split off from Player to do various tours both together and separately.
Solo Music Career
As a solo artist, Moss released his debut album, "I'm Your Man," in 2000. His second solo album, "Uncovered," came out in 2005. Moss has done a number of tours as a solo artist, including a 2019 tour of Australia with his Player band mate Jawn Star.
Acting Career
Moss had his first major acting role in the 1983 Italian adventure film "Hearts and Armour," playing the mythical hero Ruggiero. Two years after that, he appeared on television for the first time in an episode of "Trapper John, M.D." Moss had his breakout role in 1987 when he originated the part of fashion magnate Ridge Forrester on the newly created CBS soap opera "The Bold and the Beautiful." He played the role for 25 years until his departure in 2012. The same year as the debut of "The Bold and the Beautiful," Moss starred in the action film "Hard Ticket to Hawaii." After a long break from acting, he returned in 2000 with a small but critical role in the action film "The Alternate." In 2002, Moss played a soap actor in an episode of the HBO series "Six Feet Under."
Moss transitioned to voice acting in 2008 to voice Dr. Forrester in the Disney animated film "Bolt." After another substantial hiatus from acting, he returned in 2015 with a recurring role on the Flemish soap opera "Familie" and a main role on the crime drama streaming series "The Bay." On the latter show, Moss played the character John Blackwell. During his time on "The Bay," he appeared in the television films "Rossi & White" and "This is Our Christmas." Among Moss's other notable acting credits is the 2022 comedy film "Surprise Trip."
