What is Jon Rahm's Net Worth?

Jon Rahm is a Spanish professional golfer who has a net worth of $100 million. Jon Rahm is one of the top golfers in the world, having once held the number-one spot in the World Amateur Golf Ranking for a record 60 weeks in a row. He later became the number-one ranked golfer in the Official World Gold Ranking after winning the Memorial Tournament in July of 2020. Another major achievement came in June of 2021, when Jon became the first Spanish golfer to win the US Open. During his career, he earned the nickname "Rahmbo." Rham is also known for his anger issues, frequently slamming his clubs into the ground in frustration when competing. On April 9, 2023 Jon won the Masters. With the win, Jon earned a $3.24 million prize.

Career Earnings & Prize Money

On June 20th, 2021, Rahm won the 2021 U.S. Open at Torrey Pines. The victory came with a $2.5 million prize, which brought Jon's total career earnings to $38 million.

On April 9th, 2023, Jon won the 2023 Masters. The victory came with a $3.24 million prize. That win brought Jon's career earnings total up to $48 million. Jon closed 2023 with career earnings of $51.5 million.

Endorsements

Rahm has supplemented his golf income with a number of brand endorsements over the years. He is perhaps best known for being the brand ambassador for Blue Yonder, a software and consulting company based in Scottsdale, Arizona. He initially signed a multi-year deal with Callaway Golf Company, but in 2021 he signed a new deal with TaylorMade.

LIV Golf

After previously stating he would never leave the PGA for rival LIV Golf, in December 2023 rumors began to swirl that Rahm was very seriously considering making the jump. On December 7, 2023 it was widely reported that the deal was done and that Rahm would move to LIV. The deal was initially rumored to involve an offer of $600 million worth of guarantees and upfront payments. As more details emerged, the true value of the deal is believed to be $300 million and includes equity in a newly-formed LIV Golf team. If this proves to be the final number, $300 million represents six times Jon Rahm's total PGA career earnings.

Accepting the LIV deal is a major reversal-of-course for Rahm. In June 2023, just five months before the deal became real, Jon said the following when asked about joining LIV:

"Yeah, money is great, but when [my wife] Kelly and I, this first thing happened, we started talking about it and we're like, 'Would our lifestyle change if we got $400 million?' No. It would not change one bit. Truth be told, I could retire right now and I could live a very happy life and not play golf again. I've never really played the game of golf for monetary reasons. I play for the love of the game, and I want to play against the best in the world."

The deal was officially confirmed on December 8, 2023. Multiple sources have suggested Rahm will be making more than $300 million — and possibly up to $600 million — over a multi-year agreement with LIV Golf.

Early Life

Jon Rahm Rodríguez was born on November 10th of 1994 in Barrika, Basque Country, Spain. His middle name "Rahm" comes from a Swiss ancestor who settled in Spain during the 1780s. Jon was raised by a Basque father and a mother with roots in Madrid. During his childhood, he became a strong supporter of the soccer team Athletic Club Bilbao.

After attending secondary school in Spain, he won a golf scholarship to Arizona State University. During his college years, he played on the school golf team while earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications. He won a total of 11 golf tournaments during this period, a record only bested by previous Arizona State University student Phil Mickelson.

Career

Rahm began his golf career as an amateur, winning the Ben Hogan Award in 2015 and 2016. In 2014, he also became the leading individual at the Eisenhower Trophy. In 2015, he entered the Phoenix Open as an amateur during his junior year of college and finished in fifth place. By 2015, he had achieved the number-one ranking in the World Amateur Golf Ranking. Although he lost his number-one spot after 25 weeks, he then regained it and held it for a record 60 consecutive weeks.

During his time as the number-one ranked amateur golfer, he made it to the quarterfinals of the US Amateur, eventually losing to Derek Bard.  That year, he also won the Mark H. McCormack Medal, which allowed him to qualify for the US Open and the Open Championship the following year. After a number of achievements at the college level, including an NCAA regional championship and a Pac-12 Conference championship, Jon decided to go professional after the 2016 US Open.

Rahm's first professional competition was in the Quicken Loans National, eventually finishing tied for third place. Although his decision to go pro meant that he forfeited his exemption into the Open Championship, his third-place finish at the Quicken Loans National was enough to put him back into the Open. He then finished in second place at the RBC Canadian Open, which allowed him to gain Special Temporary Member status for the rest of the season. Eventually, he earned enough points to receive a PGA Tour card by 2017.

In 2017, Jon's career advanced significantly with a number of important wins. Early in the year, he won the Farmers Insurance Open, winning the tournament with a 60-foot eagle putt. It was his first PGA Tour title, and it saw him rise up to 46th in the Official World Golf Ranking. This allowed him to gain entry into the Masters Tournament, The Players Championship, and the PGA Championship. Rahm also started playing in his first World Golf Championship events, the first of which was the WGC-Mexico Championship. He finished T3 at this particular event.

Another strong result came at the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play event, where he finished as the runner-up and climbed to 14th in the world rankings. That year, Jon also competed in the Wells Fargo Championship, the Dead & DeLuca Invitational, the Open de France, the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open, the FedEx Cup Playoff, and the DP World Tour Championship in Dubai. By the end of 2017, he had won the European Tour Rookie of the Year award.

In 2018, Rahm posted more positive results, winning the CareerBuilder Challenge, the Open de Espana, and the Hero World Challenge. The wins kept coming in 2019. That year, he won the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, partnering with Ryan Palmer. He also won the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open with an impressive display. In 2019, he claimed a second consecutive victory at the Open de Espana, maintaining a 5-shot lead throughout much of the tournament. To wrap up 2019, Rahm won the Race to Dubai title after claiming victory at the DP World Tour Championship in Dubai. That year, he also won the European Tour Golfer of the Year award.

In 2020, Jon rose to the number-one spot in the world rankings for the first time after winning the Memorial Tournament. After two weeks, he lost his number-one spot to Justin Thomas. However, he continued to post positive results throughout 2020, including a win at the BMW Championship. After a slow 2021 that saw him pull out of the Memorial Tournament due to Covid-19, he won his first major tournament of the US Open.

Relationships

John Rahm lives in Arizona with his wife, Kelley. The pair met after Rahm relocated to the United States. In 2021, they welcomed their first child into the world.
