Early Life
Maite Perroni was born on March 9, 1983 in Mexico City, Mexico but grew up in Guadalajara until the age of 12. Her family then moved back to Mexico City. She was raised with her two younger brothers, Adolfo and Francisco. As a child in school, she was involved in acting, art, singing, and dancing. After graduating from high school, Perroni signed up for the Centro de Educación Artistica, an acting school run by Televisa. She completed the course in two years and then graduated.
Career
Soon after graduating from the acting program, she landed the role of Guadalupe "Lupita" Fernandez in the Mexican telenovela "Rebelde." She was one of six protagonists on the show, which lasted for three seasons from 2004 to 2006, releasing 440 episodes. Just after the completion of show, a Barbie doll version of Perroni's character was released in 2007.
The show also spawned the popularity of the Mexican Latin pop group "RBD," of which Perroni was a member.
