The 6 foot 6 Howard studied at the Yale School of Drama but left to make his debut on Broadway where he won a Tony Award in 1970 for Child's Play. Howard has over 100 acting credits to his name. In 1973 he starred as Adam Bonner in the television series Adam's Rib. Howard starred as Dave Barrett in the TV series The Manhunter from 1974 to 1975. From 1978 to 1981 he starred as Ken Reeves in the series The White Shadow. Howard starred as Jack Long in the TV series It's Not Easy in 1983.
